What I’m Loving This Week…

A little edit of the things I’m loving, wearing, visiting and enjoying right now.

01 - Let’s Talk Skin: Makeup Base

The life long struggle to find the perfect foundation/ tinted moisturiser is finally over. After years as a makeup up artist, here’s a few that I LOVE; that any time I have them on my face, I’m told how great my skin looks (funny they don’t say much when I’m make up free!) GOOD SKIN DAYS -  my absolute favourite on the list and my most recent find is the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser Natural Dewy. It does exactly what it says on the proverbial tin and gives the most stunning, hydrated finish to the skin while still giving some coverage. It’s buildable, factor 30 and has the most gorgeous, creamy consistency. I wear 3C Fawn for reference.

Spot conceal with Fenty Beauty “We’re Even” concealer (absolute magic stuff - doesn’t cake and you don’t need to set) I wear 240N for reference

LIGHT COVERAGE - one of my absolute favourite of all time and was always in my make up kit is MAC Face and Body. Gives the illusion of real skin and is also amazing lathered on the legs if they’re out. It is buildable but I don’t believe to a full coverage level. It is glorious with Chanel LES BEIGES cream bronzer CHANEL Cream Bronzer. If I want to look like I’m wearing hardly any make up but FULLY put together, this foundation or Laura Mercier with the bronzer and blush give the PERFECT finish,  that just makes my skin look fab.

MAC FACE AND BODY

NORMAL/OILY SKIN - Lisa Eldridge Enhancing Tint is glorious. It’s amazing when applied with fingers and sets to a Demi Matt finish. A better priced version of the Victoria Beckham foundation (beautiful and amazing skincare benefits) I wear T7 for reference.

MEDIUM COVERAGE - two options here and ones I returned to time and time again for bridal.

1. Armani Luminous Silk -  a demi Matt finish that lasts all day and doesn’t sit caked on the skin. If you’re oily, definitely set this one. 2. Tom Ford Traceless Soft Matte Foundation - a slightly more spenny option but doesn’t budge all day. I wore this in on my wedding day and it didn’t budge but still let my skin breathe.

02 - Milkshake Blonde Shampoo

Just listen a minute….I have honestly tried LOADS of blonde shampoos and I’ve finally found the one that gives the perfect ash that isn’t purple but can be built up to silver if needed.  I get asked if I’d just had a fresh colour every time I apply.  I wash every other day with normal shampoo and once a week, I deep cleanse with L’Oréal Metal detox shampoo to remove any build up,  before applying Milkshake. Leave on for one minute max for a refresh or 2 mins for a deeper ash tone.

03 — ONE TO WATCH OUT FOR

Coming in strong and one to really keep an eye on, is local brand ATHLYFT. Owned by Kerry and Nicole, this brand is making shapes in the health and fitness industry. They’re about to launch a new Sherpa, which I have my eyes drilled on and I was lucky enough to get my hands on the ATHLYT x Cli’s Secret Collab and it hit ALL the right boxes! Can’t wait for what’s to come! I’m all for the leisurewear for the big booty girls too!!

04 — INNER SELF CARE

The only name synonymous with inner well being is Rebecca Reid.  This woman radiates positivity and her blend of scientific and holistic healing is a game changer.  Once you have experienced her golden waterfalls of light (IYKYK), you’ll never look back.  She is able to break you down and rebuild you back up in the most beautiful, healing way.  I cannot recommend this level of self discovery enough.
